Budgets and Audits
Budgets/Audits: The fiscal year of the fire district is October 1 – September 30.
The District is authorized to levy Ad Valorem taxes, Impact Fees, user charges and non-ad valorem assessments as provided in Florida Chapter 2000-385.
The District currently levies Ad Valorem taxes of up to 3.5000 mills, or $3.50 per $1,000.00 of taxable assessed value as determined annually by the Lee County Property Appraiser.
The District charges Impact Fees on new construction. The use of Impact Fees is restricted to capital improvements necessary to provide service for new growth or expansion of equipment (not the replacement of existing apparatus).
The District has adopted the County wide fee schedule for the various fire inspection fees and has adopted set fees for the various other ancillary services.
