Station Tours
Fire station tours are offered for all age groups with a minimum of two weeks notice. Please remember that although you schedule a tour, firefighters and apparatus may not be available at your pre-arranged time as they will still be in service and subject to leaving on emergency response calls before, during and after the tour.
For your protection, we restrict the tour group size as follows:
Children 6 years of age and younger: no more than 15 children per group (Requires 1 chaperone for every 5 children)
Children 7 - 12 years of age: no more than 25 children per group (Requires 1 chaperone for every 8 children)
Children +12 years and Adults: no more than 30 per group
Tour times vary in length depending upon size of the group and
type of presentation provided.

Apparatus Visit
Fire engines/trucks and other vehicles may be scheduled to come
to your school, business or special community event. Although one or more of
these apparatus may be in attendance at your location, please note that they
will still be in service and subject to cancellation or early departure based on
emergency response calls. Because of this, it is important to designate easy
entrance and exit parking spaces for the apparatus at your facility.

Fire Extinguisher Training &
Demonstration ![]()
Businesses, civic groups and organizations can request a fire extinguisher educational presentation which includes information on the types and uses of various extinguishers and a demonstration with a "hands-on" practice drill. Participants are provided with an opportunity to use a fire extinguisher on a controlled fire utilizing a training simulator after completing the instruction phase of the class. The training and demonstration last approximately one hour and include:
Discussion on the different types of fire
Correct extinguisher to use for each type of fire
Determining factors to know when deciding whether to fight the fire
Correct procedure to follow when using an extinguisher
Child Fire and Safety Program
The intent of the children's programs is to educate on youth the importance of basic fire and life safety, starting at daycare level. Special appearances can be requested by "Freddie" (fire truck robot), and "Sparky" (fire dog). Each month, Sparky's newsletter on Fire Safety is distributed to schools.
Age and grade appropriate comprehensive fire safety and injury prevention curriculum offered to in-district schools with instruction modules on:
Basic Fire Safety
Fire and Burn Prevention
Emergency Preparedness
Fire Science
Additionally, middle school students can receive Advanced Fire Safety, First Aid, Injury Prevention Education, Tobacco and Drug Risk Education, Kitchen Safety and Baby Sitting Awareness training.
Another offering, Career Days, is a fire service employment presentation available to junior high and high school students.
Juvenile Firesetters Program
The Youth Fire Setters Program provides an alternate approach to help youth that play with fire or maliciously set fires. This program attempts to provide training for these youths that may keep them from being sent directly into the juvenile justice system.
Senior Citizen Safety
Presentations are available for Senior Citizen groups regarding fire safety; kitchen/cooking safety; fall prevention; poison, food and medication safety; and fire and life safety for the disabled.
Fire Safety in the Workplace
Presentations are available for businesses within the fire district regarding fire prevention, fire safety, fire extinguisher training and evacuation procedures. Note: A minimum of one weeks notice is required.
Home Fire Safety
This program is designed to educate citizens about specific fire hazards found in their home, installing smoke alarms and the importance of developing and practicing a home escape plan.
Community Emergency Response Teams
Members of our community are recruited and trained in life saving skills with emphasis on decision making skills, rescuer safety and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. C.E.R.T. teams are organized so that they are an extension of first responder services offering immediate help to victims until professional services arrive in time of a disaster.
Please note that tours and programs are offered Monday - Friday. After hours events are scheduled on a limited basis.
